Hello,

About one week ago my Firefox upgraded itself from 2.0 to
2.0.0.1, and
since then I have noticed that after a while of use, Firefox
consumes
up to about 95% of CPU, even if I'm not in the middle of
downloading a
new page or running a Flash animation nor anything. This is
not right.
And I haven't installed any new add-ons since then either.

I don't see anybody else making comments on this, so I'm
wondering
perhaps there's something different about my own
installation? Any
suggestion will be appreciated.

Remove Firefox and reinstall Firefox 2.0

After installation, check for Adons such as Talkback etc. and disable these Adons so your Firefox will not communicate to Mozilla.org itself

Thanks Rehan.

I installed again Firefox 2.0, but before being able to
manually
disable Talkback, I saw that it was already in disabled
state. This
was also the case with Firefox 2.0.0.1. I left this new
Firefox on the
whole night, and this morning I see it's taking very little
CPU power,
like it should be.

Well, now I don't have the slowed down computer problem.
But this is a
bit like going backwards. I was wondering if there was a
solution for
the Firefox 2.0.0.1 more like unchecking some checkbox or
something
like that. Huh, I guess I'll have to wait for a further
update to
Firefox.

Peace,
Andy
