Custom protocol.. Plz Help!!

Hello All,

I am new to this group. Kindly help me to get out of a
issue. This is
regarding adding custom protocol in firefox (Windows). I
tried to
search this on internet.. got some solutions.. but none of
them is
working on my machine.. even on my colleagues machine. most
of them
says add network.protocol-handler.app.ProtocolName in the
about:config. But its not working.

Kindly help me. I am using a firefox 2.0 and Windows Xp as
OS. I need
the custom protocol something like ymsgr:sendIM?yahooid in
yahoo.
