When I middle click a link to open it in a new tab, it takes
the window
out of maximized mode (only in Windows; Linux is fine).
This is with
FF 1.5. Anyone know what might be causing this? I know
it's kind of
vague... It happens both with bookmarks and links on a
webpage, but
not with Ctrl + T, and it doesn't happen every single time.

Hi,
I can't reproduce the problem you've described, but I'll
keep an eye
open. I'm using Firefox 1.5 on WinXP. Here's what I tried:
1. Maximize Firefox.
2. Select link or bookmark with middle-mouse-button.
3. New tab opens but window remains maximized, as expected.
Regards,

Yeah, I have a hard time reproducing it, also. Hopefully,
someone
knows what I'm talking about! Next time it happens, I will
be sure to
document exactly what I was doing.

Okay, I encountered it again. This time, I was going
through my email
(Gmail) and middle clicked a link inside one of my messages,
and the
window de-maximized.

Ah... that's no bug: The link was supposed to open a popup
and a script
tries to resize that popup... but since you've redirected it
to the
same window via middle click, it then resizes this window...
that's
about it. Under Options/Content/Javascript/Advanced you can
disable
move and resize to solve this.

Awesome, thanks. Oddly enough, on my Linux box, it was
allowed. E17
must have some overriding setting I don't know about.
Thanks again.

Cinder did you ever find a fix to your problem? I'm
experiencing this
problem on my home machine and work machine. I usually use
Ctrl+T to
open a new tab and it occassionaly (1 out of 5 or 10 times)
will
un-maximize itself. Ctrl+T opens up a blank page btw, so I
know it
can't be the page. It's a really odd problem and it's
actually been
occuring to me since Firefox 1.5 final was first released..
The 1.5
release candidates never did this. My work system is a
Windows 2000
machine - home is Windows XP.
Thanks
