Problem with Cisco Memory Utilization - Newbie alert!

Hi all. I am probably doing something very dumb, but I
don't know what
it is... Yet.

MRTG is working OK (including rrdtool and Steve Shipway's
routers2 --
awesome!!)

However, I am having trouble pulling Free and Used Memory
from a Cisco
4503. I can get SNMP data for these values from the device,
but am not
smart enough to configure MRTG to do it.

Here is how I have MRTG config file set up (in part):

### Memory Utilization - Used and Free ###

Target[172.16.1.1_mem]:
1.3.6.1.4.1.9.9.48.1.1.1.6.0&1.3.6.1.4.1.9.9.48.1.1.1.5.
0:comm_string17
2.16.1.1:
Options[172.16.1.1_mem]: nopercent,growright,gauge
SetEnv[172.16.1.1_mem]: MRTG_INT_IP=""
MRTG_INT_DESCR="Memory
Utilization"
MaxBytes[172.16.1.1_mem]: 235988720
Title[172.16.1.1_mem]: Memory Utilization -- 4503
PageTop[172.16.1.1_mem]:
Memory Utilization --
4503

With it set this way, I get the following error in my MRTG
console
window:

SNMP Error:

 error status: noSuchName
 index 1 (OID: 1.3.6.1.4.1.9.9.48.1.1.1.6.0)

Any pointers or examples to do this would be greatly
appreciated by this
MRTG newbie.

The memory pool mib has separate instances for each of the
many memory
pools on a Cisco Router. There will be at least 2, and
possibly as many
as four pools, depending on the router architecture.

you should walk the ciscoMemoryPoolName tree and see which
instance you
really need to poll. I don't think .0 is ever the correct
one.
