Dear all,

 >ACTION: Jeff to contact W3C representative to discuss
charter
extension [recorded in
 >http://www.w3.org/2007/04/12-mmsem-minutes.html#action04
]

[According to the telecon, the action is on Jeff, rather
than both chairs.]

Following earlier report of the time that is needed for W3C
to make a
decision, the message explains the extension of our XG from
the aspect
of deliverables. Currently we have four deliverables:

- "Image Annotation on the Semantic Web"
- "Vocabularies for Multimedia on the Semantic
Web"
- "Multimedia Annotation Interoperability Framework
<http://www.w3.org/2005/Incubator/
mmsem/wiki/Semantic_Interoperability>"
- "MPEG-7 and the Semantic Web
<http://www.w3.org/2005/Incubator/mmsem/XGR-mpeg7/>
"

The first two are (more or less) ready and can be published
as XG final
reports. Actions are needed for the editors to present the
deliverables
using the XG report format:

http://www.w3.org/2005/Incubator/templates/report.html

Michael, could you please give it a quick check and see how
hard/easy it
is to adapt this format?

The last two deliverables are still in the status of
editors' draft. We
could use the above format and link them from our homepage.
The extended
XG needs to continue working on the these two deliverables.
Once the
above are done, we can close the old XG properly and open
the extended
XG, if it is approved.

Best regards,
Jeff

Jeff, for "Vocabularies for Multimedia on the Semantic
Web", it is already done
and the document is conformed to the pub rules, see
Michael's message.
Latest version of the document is at:
http://www.w3.org/2005/Incubator/mmsem/XGR-vocabularies/

For: Image Annotation on the Semantic Web, latest version is
at:
http://www.w3.org/2005/Incubator/mmsem/XGR-image-ann
otation/
I hope to issue the call for publications very soon for both
of them.

Yes, the two other documents need to use the XG report
format:
http://www.w3.org/2005/Incubator/templates/report.html

For "MPEG-7 and the Semantic Web", as you pointed
out, the document will be at:

htt
p://www.w3.org/2005/Incubator/mmsem/XGR-mpeg7/

For "Multimedia Annotation Interoperability
Framework", which short name you
want to use, Vassilis, Jeff ?

Best regards.

MUSIC 2.0: MUSIC AND THE SEMANTIC WEB Workshop. Consuming
and producing
music in the 21st century (Co-located with AES 122 Vienna
Convention)

+ Abstract:
Music and audio have evolved to encompass the Internet and
all it offers
for purchase and consumption of music.
But the Internet is evolving, too. With Web 2.0 products
already on
offer, how will this affect digital music? What are the
advantages of
using Semantic Web technologies instead, or upon Web 2.0?
This workshop will provide some answers to these questions.
Topics to be covered by well-known experts in this field,
and leading
researchers include: Semantic Web and Web 2.0; Semantic
Audio basics;
Current Music 2.0 projects; future Music 2.0 projects.

+ Invited Speaker is Lucas Gonze of Yahoo!Music and Webjay.

Full details can be found at [1]
The workshop is col-located with AES 122 Vienna Convention
