Hi Gorkem,

Last year, in a separate support email to you directly, I raised the
issue of NFS trying to connect to
http://www.fastream.com/IPRedirectorv3/ and http://www.no-ip.com for
your tracking/getting ip address. To me, this becomes a fingerprint
of NFS which gives an indication to hackers about the type of ftp
software we are using. While I understand the commercial aspect of
this, I believe this behaviour should be removed or at least give us
the option whether we want to use it or not. We are using public
address and therefore we do not need for a dynamic ip address.

What if those web sites are down? Does it mean our NFS will stop? Our
NFS server should not rely on the availability of those sites.

It is software related because the behaviour is controlled by the
software. When I rolled it back, NFS was up and running, it grabs my
assigned ip address.
