Passwords not accepted in 8.5.0

Done as u told....
Replaced the server, replaced initialization files...
Same result... FTP seems OK...
HTTP no way... seems it's not recognizing the accessing users...
weird is that after many tries, one user was recognized and permitted
to access, then after logged out, again, same user and password got
401 reply page... no more access...
