Kelly,
So sorry to hear about your camera mess. I've been having
some
issues with Yahoo and did not notice that it had started sending some
of my group messages to the spam folder so I only started reading the
threads yesterday. I had a similar situation happen last month. I
was
taking pictures at our camera club's annual trip to a local
aquatic
gardens to catch the lotus and water lillies. Well, my
tripod fell and my
D200 and 18-200 VR lens decided to go swimming in
one of the ponds. ACK!!!
I was devastated. And the timing sucked.
It happened 2 weeks before a
planned trip to Sedona, Arizona and a
day scheduled with a local
photographer for touring and teaching. I
had to go with my old D70 that I
hadn't really used in about a year
and my old Tamron 28-300 lens. Well,
the camera situation worked out
OK. I got some nice shots using the D70
(which only goes to show
that much of photography is not your equipment
but you) and when I
arrived home, the camera shop had left me a message
saying that they
could fix my camera and lens. YAY!!! I'm impatiently
waiting for
their return. I hope that they will work the same as they
always did.
And I will check with my insurance agent to make sure that
I am
covered better.
