I took your photo. selected the lower, dark section, created a New
Layer Via Copy under PS, and lightened it ... (the new Layer only) -
you can then see various people standing near the trees ... makes for
a totally different photo!
(This is not a criticism of your shot, just an illustration of what
one can do with layers).
