I've been using an (all-in-one) Epson RX620 for years, and it's ok but
I want more options. I just bought a MacBook Pro and want a good photo
quality
printer to match. I also would like to direct-print on cds and do
large format printing.

Any suggestions? Things I am considering in making this choice
include the price and volume-capacity of ink cartridges and ease of
maintenance.

My price range is between $300-600.

With all the discussion of photos here, I rarely see discussion as to
out-put that isn't done online (pbase/flickr). Any suggestions would
be very much appreciated.

I think the only photo printers that willl direct print onto CD's are from Epson.
I have an HP and it does a great job but cant direct print to CD's.

Hi Mary....I use an Epson R-1800 and it prings 13"X19"...larger if using
roll paper. I can direct print on CD's using LightScribe Direct Disk
Labeling. The printer was about $500 and the ink...well, I buy the 8
cartridges for less then $30 from www.InkjetShopper.com . I have not had
any problems using this ink and the Epson Ink cartridge are $14 each times
8,
