Randy the D200 in default mode is 1/250th... but you can go to menu setting E1 and select FP which is focal plane shutter sync... you can go up as high as 1/8000 of a second, but you do loose range or distance! I like to shoot at 1/1000th!
I've been to studio shooting forums with my film-based Nikon F100 where I needed to know the sync speed for the camera (the F100 is 250). I'm going to one of these this weekend with my new D200. What's the sync
speed?
All thoughts welcome.
Thanks, Randy

Chris, No I usually let it default to 250, but I like to
shoot flowers and such at 1/1000 so that the background will go black!
others do it other reasons, but I like this reason the best!
