Take great care. I fought forest and brush fires a few times in my
younger life. Eight miles is not far if the wind shifts and speeds
up.
My granddaughter at SD state, has been sent to her dorm with all her
class mates, and put on 10 minute notice. She has her own car, and
since I15 and 101 are both closed most of the time, she is not planning
to go home to Temecula, if she has to leave, but to her brothers house
over in Mesa, AZ. That direction is open.
Her mom and dad, in Temecula, are OK for now, and since there was a big
burn near them a few years ago, they think they will be OK. The
area just west of town, with all the orchards however may burn, if the
winds turn.
The rest of the family in San Diego, are down near the Airport, and seem
to be out of all the burn areas.
I see by a later note, you are ready to go. I sure hope to God you
do not have to. Once again, take care friend.
