Schematic, one of the nation's leading interactive agencies,
is seeking
a world-class Senior Software Developer to join our New York
PHP team.
Senior Software Developers lead and work with project teams
to
architect, design, develop, test, document and deploy web
and other
applications. Responsibilities also include producing high
quality code
and documentation, creating timelines, providing technical
expertise and
feedback, evaluating new technologies, mentoring junior
developers,
maintaining legacy applications, and clearly communicating
technical
ideas to both technical and non-technical audiences.
Ideal candidates will have a minimum of five years
experience creating
large-scale web applications with PHP and MySQL, Oracle, or
PostgreSQL.
Experience with PHP 5 and object-oriented PHP is required,
and you must
be able to architect complex applications, write
well-structured
classes, and have a solid working knowledge of inheritance,
interfaces
and design patterns.
You must also be comfortable working with Apache, the Unix
command line,
and in team-based production scenarios, using CVS or
Subversion and bug
reporting tools such as Mantis. An excellent grasp of SQL is
a must, and
you should have experience administering relational
databases. Pluses
include development experience using other programming
languages and
experience with data modeling, Oracle, PL/SQL, scalability
techniques,
UML, unit testing, release management, e-commerce, XML,
SOAP, and Flash.
