We are underway with a
search for a VP of Engineering for a Web 2.0 start up in NY.
The VP of Engineering will lead the design and development of a highly
successful web service that will change the way information, informants and
information-seekers will interact on the web. The VP of Engineering will be a
critical member of the executive team, reporting directly to the CEO. He/She
will provide vision and direction to the outsourced engineering and product
development teams, and assist in the direction and leadership of new projects
and product designs. Deep hands on experience in database architecture, predictive
modeling and data mining is required.
The ideal candidate is “hands-on”; with the ability to manage all
aspects of the web platform and data model development strategy. He/She will be
a leader with a passion for building compelling customer experiences and a
proven ability to grow and lead a development team through design, development,
testing and launch for cutting-edge consumer web applications. Candidates
should be experts in the latest web technology. They should be self-driven,
analytical, strategic thinkers with strong business acumen, and must be skilled
at thinking big picture while managing details. The ideal candidate will thrive
in a growing start up environment. Previous start-up experience desirable, but
must be complimented with corporate operations experience.
