I was wondering whether 3.0.1 would include any of
Tsutsui-san's
excellent fixes. I browsed the change log, but couldn't
find any
Cobalt-specific references.

3.0.1 is intended to be a security and critical updates
release, and
many people would argue that the cobalt commits were rather
critical

I have the 3.0 restore cd installed on my qube, but I am
running a
wonderful current kernel from tsutsui

is there a better version of the kernel out there? and if
there is, so
that everyone doesn't have to compile it, can someone
(tsutsui?) host
it again for us, it fixed my other problems right up.

I would be more then happy to host any new restore cd
version, or even
kernel as I did and continue to do for a long time already.
Just need to
get the new version as what I have is the original one:

(sorry for a late response)

Well, the changes are too large to create all diffs against
netbsd-3
branch and I don't have enough to test them... (since I
always use current)

3.0.x wouldn't have all fixes I committed, but I'll add
"options SOSEND_NO_LOAN" to GENERIC and INSTALL
config files
for workaround against TLB MISS panic, and it could be in
3.0.2.

Hmm.. How extensive are the changes?  This might be a candidate for a 3.x release instead.  (Assuming that it will come out decently sooner than 4.0.0.)

Essential fixes for interrupt issue are:
http://mail-index.NetBSD.org/source-changes/2006
/04/21/0042.html
http://mail-index.NetBSD.org/source-changes/2006
/05/31/0019.html

But there are more other fixes (cosmetics, identify models,
evcnt(9) etc.)
that these diffs depend on, so I also wonder which fixes
should be
pulled up. (i.e. rewrite the patch for netbsd-3 or pullup
whole diffs)

Note PCI related fixes has been pulled up to netbsd-3.

I'm making a new restore CD (netbsd-4, even), following the
NetBSD/cobalt
Restore CD Howto. But it seems the official Cobalt ISO has
changed since the
guide has been written: there's no nfsroot/cobalt directory
to remove &
replace by NetBSD sets. Hence no
cobalt/binary/kernel/boot.gz to backup.
There's no install-core.sh neither.

There's just a usual (Linux) system tree into nfsroot/
instead. Should I
remove nfsroot/* and untar NetBSD/cobalt sets in it (and fix
things, namely
etc/, to act like a yet installed system) ?

Thanks
