Thread: how to test named configuration

how to test named configuration
country flaguser name

I'm running to named servers on NetBSD3.1
This morning someone added a CNAME for
a machine but forgot to remove its A record.
As a result the named servers wouldn't answer
any query about our domain.

Is there a way to test a named configuration
and identify misconfigurations before (re)starting it?

Regards,
Thierry.

Thanks a lot.

One more question. Why are those utilities not referenced
in the 'SEE ALSO' of man 8 named and man 5 named.conf?

Thierry.

Good idea. I just submitted a patch upstream to ISC for
their docbook
source of some of their man pages for this.
