Hello, all.
I'm trying to play audio CDs and getting nothing. It seems
that
my motherboard doesn't have an input socket for the CD (DVD)
player's
analog output - I guess that the manufacturer (HP) assumed
that
everyone would use digital audio. So I'm trying to use
digital
audio, but...
My version of kscd doesn't have a "Use direct digital
playback"
checkbox in its configuration tab, despite one being shown
in the
online documentation for kscd. It looks as though digital
playback
is offered only if kdemultimedia3's "configure"
defines BUILD_CDDA,
which in turn happens only if $libwm_with_cdda is
"yes", which appears
to be possible only for Linux hosts.
Is this something we can fix, and/or is there some other
program I can
use to play CDs by reading the digital data directly (short
of
explicitly ripping the CD and feeding the files to
audioplay)?
In case it matters:
NetBSD version: 3.0
port: amd64
kdemultimedia3 version: 3.5.0nb2
kscd version: 1.6
hardware: HP Pavilion a1130n based on Athlon64
Anne.
