Please include:
  - Version of NetBSD used
  - Origin of the XFree86 distribution
  - Origin of the binary packages

RPATHs issues has been fixed for quite a while in pkgsrc, so
I kind of
wonder what is the shape of your system.

I'm going to venture a guess and say he's using Xorg from
pkgsrc.  I've 
had problems like this with the binary pkgs and Xorg, and
figured it was 
because they were built with the base XFree86.  I could be
wrong though .
