Battery life.

Is there any way to check the remaining battery life on an
NEC Mobilepro 
780 running NetBSD? It seems like the "apm"
program always reports 20% 
battery life, no matter how long I've been using the
machine off of the 
charger. Is there something else I should be using instead?

(Sorry if this is a silly question, but for some reason I
can't find 
anything in Google and I'm new to NetBSD on portable gear,
so I've never 
had to do this before.)

I don't think there is a reliable way to do it. It doesn't
report
accurately on my MP880 either.
