vadem clio 1050 installer cannot find device to install onto

Hi,
I have dug through the archives but cannot find an (easy)
way to get
this working.
The vadem clio 1050 does run the netbsd 3.1 installer via
pbsdboot, but
the installer cannot find the (other or same ) cf-card to
install onto, nor
can the installer find the 3com pcmcia card to do a net
install.

Since quite some people seem to have solved this with
patched kernels
and other addditional hints: can someone please provide me
with
working binaries or even an image of a working cf-card setup
please?

In the end I want to run ssh and possibly a webbrowser
(either in
framebuffer or X) that supports some javascript and graphics
if
possible. Network access should run via an old 3com ethernet
or a wlan
pcmcia card.

Thanks for all pointers.
If the soulution is to compile myself, then please point me
to a
feasible howto if that exists.

Thanks,

4.0_BETA should work (in the NetBSD-daily/netbsd-4
directory).

It should be easy if you have just about any unix-like
system available.
The build.sh script builds the cross compile tools. Start
with:
./build.sh -O /lfs/mobj -D /lfs/mdest -T /lfs/tools -m
hpcmips tools
kernel=VR41XX

You can use -u when building kernels to avoid rebuilding
the whole
thing, but this seems to fail often when updating tools
(which isn't
necessary that often anyway). "Tracking
NetBSD-current" under "How to get
NetBSD" has basic info on CVS (use -r NetBSD-4 to track
the release).

-current sources are broken currently for VR systems and
need the patch
in port-hpcmips/36249, also at:
http://www.city-net.com/~darkstar/netbsd/vr_idle.diff

Thanks, it was real easy once I knew where to start.
I got the netbsd-4 daily 20070507 up and running on a 1GB CF
card.

So far I avoided the compile cycle but will keep it in
mind.
The basic system is running fine, a couple questions popped
up which
may or may not be Vadem Clio centric. For clarity I will
start a
different thread.
