I'm pretty sure OF2 can't read HFS partitions. Only OF3 or
newer can.

On OF 1.0.5 'boot scsi-int/sd3:,\ofwboot.xcf' should
work, can anyone
confirm this?

Is that a heathrow-ata? If so - do IDE DMA transfers
actually work
properly? On my beige G3 I get messages about lost
interrupts and more
often than not transfers end up with garbage. With DMA
disabled it
works fine.

No, it's old OHARE.

Maybe it requires different ide_timings on DMA, but I'm not
sure.

Hmm, there's an OF property with timing information - I'll
play with
that for a bit I guess.

I've updated diff in this PR and created 3.1_RC2 macppccd:

It just works even on my Apus (with OF2):

Ah, we still have a problem mentioned in PR bin/28884.
(or src/distrib/macppc/floppies/ramdisk/dot.profile should
be fixed)

It refused to read the MacOS partition on my disk, unlike
3.0.

Hmm.
Does it boot from a harddisk via bootxx + ofwboot (not
ofwboot.xcf)?
Does it boot from an ISO CD-ROM of 1.6-release?

I guess it requires some more info in the apple partition
map.

Yes. It also happily loads ofwboot.xcf via network.

Didn't try that so far.

Hi,

I`ve downloaded the 3.1_RC2 installation CD and booted it
up on my eMac. The eMac is:

eMac G4 1.25GHz / USB 2.0 / ATI 9200 / PowerPC 7447A

The installation disc booted just fine and everything went
OK. I`ve also tested the `gem0' driver transferring some
large file across the LAN and it worked without any problems
and at the max speed for a 100 Mbps Ethernet network .

Also the `reboot' worked just fine, so I guess that power
management is doing well.

I`d also like to do a normal installation of NetBSD 3.1_RC2
and build a kernel to test the `snapper' audio; and also
the X server. I`ll post here the results if I do so.

The clock in NetBSD 2.1 suffers from this problem: http://mail-index.netbsd.org/port-macppc/2006/06/21
/0001.html ; I might do some tests on NetBSD 3.1_RC to
test how it works.

Here is the dmesg:
