Which is weird, because:

emulation)

What did you change in your kernel config?

have fun

Nothing, it is GENERIC kernel.
The same kernel boots fine on powermac G4.

Thanks.

Hmm, weird.
Please run 'ofctl -p' and mail me the output ( which will be
a dump of
your OpenFirmware device tree which is - among other things
- used to
find console devices. We deal with some weirdnesses there
but likely
didn't catch all )

have fun
