Hi all,
I tried booting the 4.0 RC1 "macppccd.iso" from
the URL at the bottom on
my PPC Mac Mini but I can not get it to boot, no matter what
OF commands I try.
Does anyone know if that image is supposed to be bootable?
Or is there
still some problem with "makefs" for macppc?
If I mount the CD manually it looks like it is just a copy
of the
macppc releasedir, not a "real" release CD.
For reference, this one boots just fine for me:
ftp://ftp.netbsd.org/pub/NetBSD/NetBSD-3.1/iso/macppccd-3.1.
iso
Best regards,

It is not supposed to be bootable as far as I know.

What would be the difference between the releasedir and real
release CD?

I have not been able to boot a 4.0 (RC1 or beta) or any of
the -current kernels
on my dual G4 Powermac for a little while. IIRC, it throws
a "DSI trap" error
immediately after the kernel is loaded. I'll try to be more
descriptive
when I get home.
4.0 RC1 is running great on my G3 iMac though.

All,
When I try to boot a 4.0 kernel, I get the following
errors:
console keyboard type unknown, assuming ADB
* Some text scrolls by too quickly for me to catch *
trap: kernel ISI by 0xff80a290 (SRR1 0x40003030), lr:
0x1001dc
And the last two lines repeat until I power down or reset.
The output from dmesg and ofctl are below:
http://www.submoron
.org/dmesg.txt
http://www.submoron
.org/ofctl.txt
Thanks for all your great work!
