Hey all,

Just updated the wiki at http://wiki.one
tbsd.org/index.php/xen

Feel free to hack it to shreds. I did what I had to to
format it, forgive me.
There are a few places where elaboration may be required.

It should be a good place to point poeple who are setting up
Xen3 until there
is an official Howto.

Good to see MAKEDEV now includes the xsd_kva device. Anyone
know if the shutdown
patch was committed?

What is the best/easiest was to track commits?

You mean like the one at http://www
.netbsd.org/Ports/xen/howto.html, which
has been there for quite a while now? If you have any
patches for the
howto.xml file, let me or wwwNetBSD.org know.

I'm aware of the _Xen2_ Howto, and it is quite good. I was
merely trying
to address the questions that repeatedly get asked on this
list regarding _Xen3_.

Unless the Howto you are referencing contains detailed
information on installing
Xen3 and I am unaware of this, I apologise. Needless to say,
the wiki can be
updated by anybody and is a little more fluid. More
applicable to a product
that is in development and proned to change frequently.

There is no Xen2 Howto, just a Xen Howto.
I agree that work needs/can be done to include Xen3 data.
Would you be interested to submit some patches to
htdocs/Ports/xen/howto.xml to have everything in one place?
We'd appreciate it!

I would be interested, though I think the differences in
configuration of Xen2 and Xen3 may be too significant, in
that, trying to include all details in one howto may become
too cluttered.

When Xen3 is mature and is the NetBSD standard, creating a
new
revision would be appropriate, but I think for now, a brief
document outlining a generic configuration maybe more
beneficial.

This is just my oppinion. I created the wiki article to
document
how I set up Xen so that other people may avoid scrounging
for
information or asking a repeated question on the mailling
list
that I have seen Manuel answer on more than one occaision.

Quite often it is something very small like dependancies,
configuration options (obsolete or otherwise) and boot
options.
That is why I have been very brief on the wiki and have not
attempted to create another howto.

When Xen3 is mature I would be happy to help.
