It is important to have a secondary DNS service that
- can handle the load
- has additional security built in to eliminate spoofing,
- not able to scrutinize via telnet connections,
- and most importantly: only reply for hosted domains (not
be an open DNS server, which will slow down your own requests or cause email
failures, website failures and all other kinds of problems.
Examples: Governor Mifflin High School and
Boyertown Area High School have both had serious problems in the
last 2 months' spam increase.
They are "gifted" people who have
been through xx years of college and "they know more" than anyone else --
so forget about teaching them anything until you
produce a Doctorate Degree certifiate. Hrmpf.

Subject: [SurgeMail List] [off topic] DNS
Hi
We are currently looking for co-lo space (us)
where we could put a server to act as our second dns.
We would prefer a situation where the hosting would
be reciplicated by us, so minimise costs
Out backbone is to OPTUS and via PIPE NETWORKS here
in Australia
Regards
Samantha
