| webmail bug - message body / message
header mixup |

Hi,
Sometimes in webmail, when we click on message, the message looks like it's from someone we know, with a subject that makes sense. Sometimes it's a message we've already read. However, when we click on the message, the message body is from some other message (sometimes SPAM). And furthermore, when we click on the message to see the message body, the message header that displays at that point is the correct message header (i.e., the subject/sender/to changes).
It only happens with webmail, and doesn't happen with people using desktop clients like Apple Mail, Thunderbird, etc.
We're running version 3.8f2-2 on linux.
Anyone experienced this problem before?
Thanks!

This issue remains unresolved but I am actively chasing it. In order to get
any further with it I need access to one account in its broken state. I've
got a special webmail build with extra logging which I can give people who
are encountering this problem to help track it. I've got several admins
currently looking out for such an account but have not had access to an
account in its broken state yet since adding the extra troubleshooting
logging.
Your issue sounds similar although not necessary identical. Have you tried
regenerating the webmail indexes (bottom of advanced options on webmail
pages) and does that help?

I mentioned previously that when a mailbox has lots of
emails, the most recent 30 days doesn't show up on page 1.
It could possibly be that the index files are not being
periodically updated.
NetWin: Would it be possible to create a
Test version of Webmail that reads the files in the directory vs an
index file to help narrow it down?

Maybe I'm just being forgetful but I do not recall that one.
What are the
circumstances surrounding the undisplayed mail. If you go to
another page
and back to the first page do they get displayed at all? Is
there any other
info you can give me about it?
The webmail with extra logging I mentioned is available and
logs all index
read / write access and IMAP access to retrieve message
info, so that is
probably all you need to chase that one too. I'm kind of
keen to keep track
of who is running that version (primarily to make sure that
webmail.ini is
correctly configured to avoid performance problems), but if
you want this
build, mail me offlist I'll point you at the download link.
