Looks like we have webmail 3.1r on Linux and having an issue
with the
window that opens up to compose new messages.
It's very easy to push the buttons off the top of the window
that
opens. While I can recover from that most users won't know
how. Also
if you put more lines in the text box, it starts to scroll,
but the
scroll bar is off screen unless you make the compose window
bigger.

Which full webmail version number are you running?
eg 3.1r buil 17 etc

Which template set and browser combination are you using?
and what do you
mean by "push the buttons of the top of the
screen"? I'm assuming scrolling
them, but I just checked the standard templates and do not
see where this
would be happening.

Using Smooth. I have confirmed this on a Linux workstation
using
Firefox and on a WinXP workstation using IE6.
Compose a message. Type lines and hit enter until you get
to the bottom
of the screen and continue. The text scrolls up. No slider
unless you
make the compose window bigger by grabbing the lower right
hand corner
and dragging it(it's hidden off the right side of the
window). Then you
can see the slider tool to scroll up & down through the
compose window.
Sometimes when doing this the menu buttons at the top (Send,
Save Draft,
etc) will slide up out of view. Experienced this with both
browsers.
Again grabbing the bottom right corner and expanding the
window will
'fix' this, but most users would be throughly confused by
this behavior.

That a tad dated, but should have pretty much most of the
recent fixes.
Ah, I think I see what you are seeing. Looks like it is an
effect associated
with having a really low resolution screen. Two
suggestions:
1) Forcing the popup window to have toolbars
eg setting this in the function script_cmd.js
function openWindow_lot(url, width, height, resize, left,
top)
{...
type = type +
",toolbar=no,location=no,directories=no,status=no,menub
ar=no,scrollbars=yes";
...}
2) Alternative is to reduce the size of the text window.

Sorry for the last, hit enter before I typed anything...
Normally I am running my screens at 1280x1024 24 bit color.
Maybe on a
small monitor, 1024x768. So what do you mean by low
resolution?
Are these fixes something you will put into webmail or
something
else??? Not sure here.

The eye can distinguish approx 1.5 million colors at a
time, therefore HiColor at 64,000 colors is quite suitable... and displays
faster using less computer memory & processing power than 24-bit
color. For our customers here, I recommend that only Graphics Artists use
the 24-bit color setting - on a Mac.

How do I get 3.1r build whatever. I don't see 3.1r build ?
on the ftp site.
Because I have custom surgemail exe's I don't want to just
download a
whole package at this point.
