My guess (and it's just a guess) is something is sending the
message multiple times due to a scanner/timeout issue.

The next step is to examine the rec file to determine if a
problem message has been
delivered multiple times. Let me know what you find.

Then send me the headers of a problem message and a
duplicate, and the entries you find
in msg*.rec regarding that message coming in and being read.
And a detailed description of any
spam/virus scanners that might be working on incoming
messages external to surgemail.

I have one user reporting duplicate messages with OutlookXP.  They are getting dupes and an error message from Outlook, the hex code translates to an out of range error in message id's via POP3.

 <pre wrap="">;Hi ,

Something just went ding in my head when I was reading this. You definitely
need to upgrade to the new binary as previously
suggested, I believe that will fix it as I do recall a bug caused by mirroring

over a slow link causing exactly this sort of issue with large
messages. I must appologize for not remembering this issue earlier as it
so clearly fits your problem description.

The problem is due to duplicate emails being delivered to the same user (not

spam either) sometimes up to 20 times (each one has a different msg ID). This

typically happens with emails that have attachments, but has happened with

regular emails. The two mail servers are in two seperate sites, but are

Has anyone else experienced this problem, and if so is there any patch
available to address this issue?

Thanks!
