Hi everyone,
Just wondering . I have the surgemail running on a Sun
server with
solaris 10. Right now I will like to upgrade some parts and
software of
this server. Example: Upgrade apache version, PHP version,
MySQL,
install some compilers etc. I'm not sure how will this
affect the
surgemail but I dont think this will be a problem for it.
I'm running
version */Solaris Sparc64 3.8f3-3 Jan 12 2007 /*. I have
another server
that I could use to replace this one (Dell intel) in the
time this
server will be down for upgrades. So my questions is : How
will you
manage a situation like this.?
This server is running 2 small websites and the mail server
(surgemail)
Since the old server I will be upgrading, installing and
restarting will
be offline. Could I install the surgemail on the temporary
Dell server
and don't leave the users without email service? There are
like 30 users
. Will they loose the emails? Will I loose the settings I
applied
already to the mail server?
Any other tip or advice you will recommend to make this task
done?
