domain name |

Hi All,
Not sure exactly how to describe this one, so here's an
explanation.
We have a SurgeMail server, mail.domain.com, and
mail.domain.com
also has a valid SSL certificate.
We have a client MX/mail server that goes through
mail.domain.com
called mail.client.com.
https://mail.domain.com -
for webmail - valid SSL, no error.
https://mail.client.com -
SSL error, not a valid cert (obviously).
We'd like to direct all webmail/domain admin through the
main
domain, mail.domain.com. Is there a way to tell the main
mail
server which domain is logging in, without the domain being
mail.client.com?
e.g. https
://mail.domain.com/?domain=mail.client.com
Or does it rely completely on the domain name?
cheers,
Richard

Hi Richard,
Sounds like I'm doing exactly what you want on my Surgemail server. It
requires a few manual changes to the Templates.
In login.tpl add
<input type="hidden" name="select_domain" value="||domain||">
and you'll be able to access your other domains via syntax like https://mail.domain.com/scripts/webmail.exe?domain=mail.client.com . The user then won't have to enter his domain as part of the username.
You'll also want to modify a couple other template files such as logout.tpl and error.tpl, changing occurrences of "cmd=%20" to "domain=||domain||".
Hope this helps!
Regards,
Bob

Oh, forgot to mention, I know that using the full user client.com
email address works for mail users, but that doesn't work
for the
domain administrator login.

Hi All,
It works with the domain admin login too, changing
web/na_login.htm,
adding as Bob outlined:
<input type="hidden" name="domain"
value="||domain||">
Many thanks NetWin for the great source commenting, it's
much appreciated trying to change things like this!
cheers,
Richard
