OK, I haven't seen mcafee cause this problem. Can you check
to see if
your's is configured to scan email and if so - set it to
disabled and then
try again. At least that way we can determine if it's
mcafee's av causing
the problem.

Do you have mcafee av installed on the server? Is it
configured to scan the
surgemail directories or to exclude them?

Kevin,
I am using the McAfee Total Protection for Small Business.
There is no
place to disable anything. To test the workstation
anti-virus theory I
uninstalled it from my computer but I still have the same
issue.

Before uninstalling the anti-virus I was able to send out a
couple of test
messages with attachments... but of course that was only
temporary.
Another thing I noticed was that "when" it did
send the message it seemed
like it took an extreme amount of time for the workstation
to send it to the
server.

The surgemail server does not have a virus scanner on it but
I do have a
McAfee gateway scanner appliance. I'm going to take a look
at it now to see
if I see anything strange going on with it.

---
Thanks,
ChrisG
