It could easily be. That is webmail crashing for some
reason. Try and
narrow down to see whether you can track it down to any user
particular
actions / repeat it. Also it is worth while checking for
drwatson logs
and adding appropriate webmail debug logging then perusing
the log files
to see if that helps identify under what conditions webmail
is crashing.

IIS seems to cache a lot.  Prior to Surgemail, we were running another brand, and their Webmail crashed every other day.  The fix was to create a RestartServers.Bat file then have it automatically run at 3am.
In short it said:
net stop this
net stop that
iisreset /restart
net start that
net start this

The IIS line above has the correct syntax, and you can insert other programs into the restartservers.bat routine if you wish.
Other people here on this list are more proficient than I at IIS.

Personally speaking, we run Surgemail on its own computer, no IIS or other things to interfere.
Also we've noticed that most MS-SQL driven websites run like dogs... and even using MySQL on Windows sometimes causes the ODBC drivers to simply 'forget' what it's supposed to do.
