It depends on what email clients you are wanting to
support.
If webmail you can just make sure your users access webmail
using https.
If other pop / imap clients you just need to make sure these
clients
connect using the SSL versions of the POP and IMAP ports.
You will also
need to purchase and setup an ssl certificate if you want to
avoid ssl
warnings which will be generated if you use the default self
generated
