Thread: Providing a remote interface to add/delete accounts

Providing a remote interface to add/delete accounts

I'm working on a simple interface to provide a customer to
add/delete
accounts and change passwords using a web link or similar
interface
to their remote server. Has anyone created an interface
using
tellmail to do this that they are willing to share as a
model, or
have a suggestion regarding the simplest way to provide such
an
interface? Ideally I just want them to be able to add/delete
users
and change passwords for a single domain.

Thanks,

Noah

If it wasn't clear, this is intended to be a part of an
automated
account creation driven by their (remote) server, not an end
user
form which I know already exists through the admin web
interface. My
server will be running MacOS X, though I have either MacOS X
or Linux
servers available if this is best done using a separate web
(or
other) server that we control.

Thanks,

Noah

I'm not clear why you would do this instead of making the
user the domain admin
and letting them use the surgemail self admin features for
doing this.

I'm integrating an email service into another company's
portal, so I
need to let them drive the adds and deletes (and perhaps
password
changes) from their site. We don't want to handle it
manually due to
anticipated volume.

If tellmail could be authorized (say by a domain admin
credentials)
just to change a single domain's users, I could probably
have them use
tellmail directly from a specific IP address, though I'd
rather keep
all the mail server software under my control for the sake
of upgrades.

I'm open to other suggestions, as long as they aren't manual

Thanks,

Noah
