How about when you have a primary incoming Surgemail
server on ports 25/110
and the Mirror server setup on 587 / another port vs 110
?
Initially, the Mirror server would mirror only the
mailboxes. The extra mirroring commands, or copying the whole dir tree,
would get the mirror server up-to-date... then you'd want to un-hook the
mirroring of the mfilter.rul and friends.rul files, so that the Mirror machine
could then be customized.
Since the mirror machine isn't running on port 25, it
shouldn't be receiving too many connections from the outside world; it would be
primarily a server that's coasting along that your customers log
into.
Questions:
What's a good alternate port for 110?
Can the Mirror server be so customized to lighten the
load, so that the g_body_filter can be used?

>>Y ou can use mfilter and you can also enable
it in the web interface by setting
g_body_filter "true" in
surgemail.ini,
It isn't enabled by default as body scanning is slow'so if
lots of users add lots of body scanning rules it could in theory create a
performance impact.
