Hei!
On Linux, what is the default system path to:
"User Self Management" (/cgi/user.cgi)
"Domain Management" (/cgi/domadmin.cgi) ???
In which setup file(s) are these relationships set?
Thanks!

| Surgemail Mirror Setup |
  Norway |
2007-11-28 13:02:32 |
Hi,
I'm trying to set up a SurgeMail mirror server. I have
followed the docs
found on h
ttp://www.netwinsite.com/surgemail/help/mirror.htm, and
have
installed vanilla download, run the install and answered the
standard
questions. I then copied surgemail.ini from the old master
over to
c:windows (where the new install placed its
surgemail.ini).
I then edited INI files on both servers, removed the
'g_mirror_mode
"DISABLED"' from them both, and added
g_mirror_nossl, g_mirror_host,
g_mirror_secret and g_mirror_config according to the docs.
The g_mirror_host setting point to each others IP addresses.
They ping each
other without problems.
I then shut down both SurgeMail servers, rebooted just to be
safe, and
issued the tellmail commands described in the docs
tellmail resync_config
tellmail surgehost_update
tellmail resync_nwauth
tellmail resync_fast
The Status screens on the servers display the info copied
below.
I'd appreciate if someone could tell me if there is anything
I have missed,
a setting which isn't specified in the mirror setup docs on
NetWinSite's
web, or what I should do to get this working.
Bestr regards,
Robert

It's probably easier to fix this via the webadmin on port
7026. Global
Settings --> Clustering. In the top section, set master
or slave, ip
address of other computer and password. And then do the
same on the
other one and see if that helps. The error message on the
Slave seems
to indicate the password did not match.

| Double check that each host in the mirror config has the other ones ip address and not the same or it's own. Double check the password and make sure it's the same on both.
I don't use the config mirror portion, but just add a user and if the mirroring is working, you should see it on the slave or vice versa by the time you login.
Make sure the domains are present in both configurations as well. On Nov 28, 2007, at 11:02 AM, Robert Hercz wrote: Hi,

| Surgemail Mirror Setup (Chapter 2) |
  Norway |
2007-11-28 13:43:15 |
Hi,
Thanx for tips. I checked the INI files, both had the
correct settings and
exactly the same password. Still, when checking in Global
Settings $B"*(B
Clustering, not only was the mode incorrect, but also the
passwords didn$B!G(Bt
match (it was blank on the slave). Well, I then set the
first to MASTER and
the second to SLAVE, checked that I got the IP addresses
right (each server
definitely has the other servers' address), and even that
the Advanced
Settings were correct and identical. Both had
$B!H(Bg_mirror_config$B!I(B and
$B!H(Bg_mirror_nossl$B!I(B checked.
All saved, then stop and start both servers. Still
doesn$B!G(Bt seem to work,
although the Status data has changed somewhat, see below.
There are ERR
messages on the Master, indicating its commands are not
recognized...
Both servers are Windows 3.8k4-4 released Aug 29th...
Any ideas anyone?
Regards,
Robert

I don't use the *Nix version of Surgemail, but I can say
that user self-management and domain management should be done through the web
interface.
Click on a Domain on the domains list. At the very
top of the domain page are the appropriate links.
All users can manage their own Whitelists and Blocklists
etc.
All Domain Admins can add/remove accounts for that domain
- which is done on the Domain page.

1. Goto the Status page (left menu) click on
Advanced. Goto very bottom of page. The last section will display
Mirror In and Mirror Out details.
In the Find box (top left corner) type in
g_mirror to see the various mirroring settings... you don't need to
edit the ini files manually other than intially copying the surgemail.ini file
over to the 2nd machine. Actually, no reboot is necessary.

Subject: [SurgeMail List] Surgemail Mirror Setup
Hi,
I'm trying to set up a SurgeMail mirror server. I have
followed the docs found on http://www.netwinsite.com/surgemail/help/mirror.htm,
and have installed vanilla download, run the install and answered the
standard questions. I then copied surgemail.ini from the old master over
to c:windows (where the new install placed its surgemail.ini).
I then
edited INI files on both servers, removed the 'g_mirror_mode "DISABLED"' from
them both, and added g_mirror_nossl, g_mirror_host, g_mirror_secret and
g_mirror_config according to the docs. The g_mirror_host setting point to
each others IP addresses. They ping each other without problems.
I
then shut down both SurgeMail servers, rebooted just to be safe, and issued
the tellmail commands described in the docs
tellmail
resync_config tellmail surgehost_update tellmail resync_nwauth tellmail
resync_fast
The Status screens on the servers display the info copied
below.
I'd appreciate if someone could tell me if there is anything I
have missed, a setting which isn't specified in the mirror setup docs on
NetWinSite's web, or what I should do to get this working.

These urls are not changeable sorry, and they do not
correspond to
"paths on disk" as these calls are actually
handled internally to
surgemail.
The /cgi/domadmin.cgi url is actually somewhat redundant as
you can
login to /cgi/user.cgi as the domain administrator and do
any domain
configuration you need.
You can place arbitrary cgi files in surgemail/scripts
(which may be
aliased to as http://yourserver/cgi if
you so desire for example)
directory or images/html etc in surgemail/www.
