If you want an outlook compatible groupware server than an
outlook connector
is essential (for connecting outlook to your server) and
from bitter
experience I can vouch that is a minefield. I've tested them
all - Kerio,
MDaemon, Scalix, Zimbra etc. They all had issues with
offline support,
stability, feature support and heaps of quirks - inability
to categorise,
obscure calendar attributes etc.
Outlook/Exchange is a swamp of obscure poorly documented
api's that its
essential to get 100% right before users will find it
acceptable. Its a
money/time pit. Personally I doubt its an area netwin want
to get into.

Having built Outlook compatible solutions myself I can attest to this.
Ho wever, the complexity of the market is a testimony of the huge payoff for the company that figures it out first

Just tonight I saw a TV ad for Comcast.net. They now
support MS Outlook shared calendars.

Comcast is using Zimbra (as well as Plaxo for the address
book).

Yes, many of my business customers are clamoring for
shared/delegated
calendars and mobile sync (calendar and address book, not
just mail).
Oh, and that's for Mac/Palm/Blackberry in addition to PC,
more than
just an Outlook connector.
