sm-client bootup problem

Hi,

I am running SurgeMail version 3.8k4-4 on a RedHat Linux
box.

I just restarted the server after several weeks without a
restart.  It executed sendmail then hung at sm-client. 
After several minutes I hit <ctrl><c> and
<ctrl><d> and it
resumed the bootup.

My concern is that the server will not reboot after a power
outage unless I am here to get it past sm-client.

Is is possible that a RedHat update to sendmail messed up
the stub?  Would a reinstall of SurgeMail fix the problem?

Any suggestions are welcome.

yes

  Would a reinstall of SurgeMail fix the problem?


No, manually replace the sendmail binary if you can.

copy 'sendmail' from the distribution to usr/sbin/sendmail

(check the file sizes first so you know you really are
replacing the 
right one)

The other thing you can do is remove the sendmail startup
scripts from 
/etc/init.d
