Is there a way for the Friends sub system of Surgemail, to automatically approve and release any email in holding, if the user sends an email to the recipient whose email is pending in the Friends sub system?

If Friends is turned on, and if our customer sends an email to someoneearthlink">someoneearthlink first, the earthlink">someoneearthlink email address is automatically added to the Friends Whitelist, which allows all future emails from someoneearthlink">someoneearthlink.

If earthlink">someoneearthlink sends an email to mydomain">myaccountmydomain, and if the Friends system is set to hold and Challenge new senders, then Surgemail will send back a "click here" email to earthlink">someoneearthlink.
someoneearthlink">someoneearthlink will receive the email and choose to become authorized or not.

If mydomain">myaccountmydomain uses an email client like Outlook Express and sees the listing on the status.eml that is sent to you per the Logs settings, and decides to send an email to earthlink">someoneearthlink,
No... sending the outbound email will only add earthlink">someoneearthlink to the Friends list for future emails, but it won't Release any pending emails.  earthlink">someoneearthlink still needs to authenticate per the normal way, or mydomain">myaccountmydomain may go view the Pending folder and manually release it.
There is no CRON or extra programming behind it.
This has been discussed earlier, and I think it was put onto the Netwin Work List, however it's low on the list, I think.

On the one hand, this would be a nice feature to have - for the customers who know better, but would be really bad for the customers who need to be protected from themselves...
so if this feature were to be implemented, I would also recommend it be controlled by a g_user_access yes/no feature; and if enabled would display a yes/no checkbox on the user's Pending page.

Can this be done ChrisP?

Just looking at the code, I would expect it to actually
release anything pending when sending out to an address that
had
been caught in friends. If you are sure the addresses match
and this doesn't happen then let me know. Be sure to use
smtp authentication of course for this feature to work.
