    I have a surgewall set up to protect a an IBM Lotus setup. Lotus lets in all email for the domain, and then figures out that there is no such user and tries to bounce the spam  

yes, I know, wow! 

I need to check that the user exists , how do I do that? can I ;upload a list of users to surgewall ? I also need to use the surgewall webmail so the ;solution should keep this in mind.
