it in fact didn't get sent, and didn't write a copy to the
SENT folder either. The bad address caused the message to
be entirely rejected. The logs show a line for each
recipient like:

Could you tell me if it's intentional, or hopefully
something that needs fixing?

Hi,

When you send to an incorrect address, the server sends back
a code
immediately for that bad rcpt (assuming the rcpt is local)
which it is
supposed to do, the client then usually aborts the message.

What is strange is that you are saying surgemail appearted
to accept the
message which would mean maybe the client is doing something
silly and
not picking up the invalid rcpt.

It would be nice to see the whole log section so I can see
what happened
completely just one rcpt doesn't really show enough of
what happened.

What client were you sending with ?

Regards,
Stuart

Domain administrators and Bulletins

As usual it appears I am dense again.

How do we give a domain administrator access to sending
bulletins
within his/her domain? We have a client who wants to email
all his
accounts and there is no mailing list which, with 200 users,
would be
a cruel punishment to set up a list.

Having never used the bulletin feature I am pretty clueless
about how
to do so and I haven't found a clear (enough for me)
description in
the documentation.

I thought from the documentation I did find that this link
would take
one to the admin management page, but no such luck.

http://mydoaim
.org/cgi-bin/webmail.cgi$cmd=manager

In fact it does not seem to work at all on my windows
system. If
this is designed for Unix, is there an equivalent for
Window?

On the other hand it appears that the bulletins only apply
to
webmail. Is there, then, something other than a list that
can be
used to send an email to all accounts in a domain? I
thought I had
seen some reference to this months ago, but I can not find
it now.
