Would someone be so kind as to help me figure out why this email
bounced.
My surgemail server is CIPF.net... it says that a domain that is hosted
on the same server (myiraresource.com) does not exist.
Thanks
Wayne

DNS shows that ns1.sfnet.com and ns1.digilinx.com are the authoritative
DNS serves for myiraresource.com. But ns1.digilinx.com does not hava
any knowledge of myiraresource.com.

A DNSreport for assetlandinc.com shows the following
errors:
1. One or more of your nameservers reports that it is an
open DNS
server. This usually means that anyone in the world can
query it for
domains it is not authoritative for (it is possible that the
DNS server
advertises that it does recursive lookups when it does not,
but that
shouldn't happen). This can cause an excessive load on your
DNS server.
Also, it is strongly discouraged to have a DNS server be
both
authoritative for your domain and be recursive (even if it
is not open),
due to the potential for cache poisoning (with no recursion,
there is no
cache, and it is impossible to poison it). Also, the bad
guys could use
your DNS server as part of an attack, by forging their IP
address.
Problem record(s) are:
Server 200.46.52.39 reports that it will do recursive
lookups. Server
200.46.52.39 reports that it will do recursive lookups.
2. You have 2 nameservers, but both are on the same IP! This
is not a
valid setup. You are required to have at least 2
nameservers, per RFC
1035 section 2.2.
3. One or more of the nameservers listed at the parent
servers are not
listed as NS records at your nameservers. The problem NS
records are:
dns2.nkpanama.com.
4. One or more of your MX records points to a CNAME. CNAMEs
are
prohibited in MX records, according to RFC974, RFC1034
3.6.2, RFC1912
2.4, and RFC2181 10.3. The problem MX record(s) are:
mail.assetlandinc.com.->assetlandinc.com.->190.140.159
.8
If you administer your own DNS I suggest you visit
www.dnsstuff.com
where you can find information how to set up your DNS.
You need to change your MX record from mail.assetlandinc.com
to
assetlandinc.com and/or remove the CNAME record for
mail.assetlandinc.com and set up an A record pointing to
190.140.159.8.

Not really, because of all the info that they provide. It's
less than
$7.00/month to have solid assurance that your systems are
correct, and
access to the myriad of troubleshooting tools that they have
to offer.
(Just my $0.08, that 2 cents plus inflation <smile>).

Thank you. That would make sense since we made some changes to our
secondary DNS over last weekend.
