Is this running IE7 on Vista or XP? And which version of
webmail and the
templates did you upgrade to and did you upgrade the
templates?

The problem you describe sounds like it is the behaviour of
the old
templates when you run IE7 under windows vista as the html
editor that we
are using is not supported any more under windows vista as
per:
http://msdn2.microsoft.com/en-us/library/aa663363.aspx

To fix the problem you are seeing with an "unusable
interface" the recent
builds (as of the last 9 months or so) the html editor
should be explicitly
disabled if you are using IE7 under vista and you should not
get not get the
html dropdown anywhere. I've just confirmed this again using
the compose
page and the signature editing page using the Panel
templates with the
latest surgemail build.

Something that should have been done a long time ago but
just hasn't, is to
update the existing webmail templates with a modern cross
browser html
editor. 90% of the development of just that has already been
done in
relation to the new webmail development, and I have made
promises to
integrate it into the old webmail. It is just all rather
messy to integrate
it with the existing webmail and I am worried I'll break
more instead.
Anyway, yes, I probably will integrate a new decent html
editor into the
existing webmail templates in the very near future...

But that does not sound like it will directly address your
problem. I
suspect you do not have the latest templates - or you are
testing a set of
conditions I've not tested.

There's a rumor going around that the domain hi5.com has been sending spams to get people to visit their MySpace-like website, and when the person visits, they get infected with a mass email worm.
If any of you are interested, just do a search for hi5 in your mailboxes, click on a link and investigate (if your anti-malware software is current).

I don't currently have a spare computer to test with at the moment.&nbsp; When a new computer is sold, we usually get the old one to clean-up and give to the local Senior Citizens organizations for email.&nbsp; None are setup as a 'mikey machine' at this time.
It's more important to get this Heads-Up out to you ;than to delay with statistics.  Yes, it could be a false alarm, but the 2nd hand evidence so far points to a real threat.

This is similar to:
Thurs Apr 24, 2008
Dept of Homeland Security, UN, and UK's Dept of Civil Service&nbsp;were hacked, among 173,000 others.
and

Web postings contain <script src = http://www.nihaorr1.!com/1.js></script>
is the infected website that people with an unpatched XP etc are redirected to.
However this idea of allowing the insertion of a URL inside a script src is what's probably the most dangerous.
