How to get a list of email accounts PLUS the mailaliases (if any) of each account?

Hi All,

Those of us running surgemail on linux can extract a full list of email accounts on surgemail via

   cat /usr/local/surgemail/nwauth.txt | gawk -F: '{print $1}'

How can I get a full list of SM email accounts PLUS the mail alias(es), if any, associated with each?

Maybe it's an RTFM issue - but it isn't immediately obvious to me where the mailalias blurb is stored.

TIA

Thanks Chris,

We're on Version: Linux 3.9e-1 Apr 8 2008 04:08:04 (Latest
surgemail
version installed)

Entering "tellmail list_rcpt *" results in the
response
"Segmentation fault"

Entering "tellmail list_rcpt local.domain.name
alias" produces a list of
aliases - and nothing else. By that, I mean that the
end-result (i.e.
file name "list_rcpt.txt") is just a bare-bones
list of mail aliases.
Bizzarely, it doesn't include the actual account-name with
which each
mailalias is associated.

So, getting back to my original question: How can I get a
full list of
SM email accounts PLUS the mail alias(es), if any,
associated with each?
Using the command "locate aliases.txt", extracting
the accountname and
then extracting the content of the corresponding aliases.txt
file seems
unduly cumbersome. There has to be a more elegant solution
available

Hi again,

Ignore most of what I said below - just now I spotted file
domuser.dat
which appears to contain everything that I need.

( In passing, I should mention that the "tellmail
help" blurb is
definitely very much out-of-sync with what's available via
http://www.netwinsite.com/surgemail/help/tellmail.htm
)

I tried out "tellmail rescan_aliases" which seemed
to work okay. I then
tried out "tellmail rescan_aliases_files" which,
although running (?) at
a glacially slow pace, eventually generates file
"domuser.newdat".
