Very true Roy! If I were a pro I wouldn't hesitate to get Photomatix, and
Lightroom and that Portrait pro looks very impressive as well, they would all
speed up workflow thus earn their keep. Unfortunately my client (me) is a
stingy old ****** and won't pay up so I continue to play the hard way

Andy

Andy it is all easy if you know how.

I didn't say it was hard nor am I trying to say that one program is better
than the other I'm simply passing on my thoughts based on my own experience.
Other may have completely different thoughts based on their experiences.

For myself, I use a workflow that I am comfortable with and right now that
often includes three programs, Capture NX, Photomatix and CS3. I like this
workflow and find it effective for my purposes. Others may prefer something
completely different and in time as my knowledge or experience changes so might I.

Thank you for your nice comment about my work.

Roy

Roy, I certainly wouldn't use the HDR function on CS3, it's hopeless unless
you get the full range. But doing what you've done is fairly easy in Ps and
there are several ways. Photmatix does automate some it though

I find a lot of Photomatixed images look obviously done and somewhat unreal,
I'm pleased to say that yours look excellent

Andy

Yes you could do it all in CS3 but the results would probably not be the
same.

I don't know how much HDR work you have done but my experience is that the
results using Photomatix are dramatically different than those in Photoshop.
