Subject: [Nikon-D70] I am off to Africa
Fello D70 Users and Nikon Lovers,
Well, my time is near to head to Kenya. First I want to thank those of you who offered
suggestions for my trip in response to my posting a while back. I do want to mention I will
be brining my D70 along for shooting. I do so to restrain any and all who might question
my posting this message here. I was sorely tempted to invest in the new D40x as a backup
but will wait on that one. The higher pixel count interests me. But in reality the D70 fits
me very well and when time comes for a backup I am expecting it will be another of the
D70 family.
I noticed a posting earlier this week from a well known and respected Danish nature
photographer, Jan Fischer Rasmussen. I sent off a quick note in praise of his posting and
his work. (Google his name and check on what he has done). We exchanged e-mails and I
will value his critique of my work when I return and post the photos. I say this as a point of
reference for the many unwarranted e-mails/postings that have flooded this Yahoo Group.
I am sure it has been a task for Gordon and Mel to rein in the flood. As a part of a world
wide linguistic organization I understand how language can be misconstrued. In this case
there has been a total misunderstanding of a word used to describe a nation and region of
Africa. The proper definitions have been presented and I trust accepted by all parties. Can
we now get back to our focus here? That is an excellent, indeed pioneering piece of photo
equipment, the Nikon D70. That coupled with postings regarding its use and examples of
it's use are what we are here for.
Again, thanks to all who have helped me to be a better DSLR user and assisted in my
migration from my old Nikon Fs and Pronea 600i.
Let's talk cameras, lenses and shooting!
