To see your image magnified on the D70, when the image is visible on
the back LCD panel, press the gold "Enter" button (it has a gold
colored "magnifying glass"; icon next to it). Now press and hold the
gold "thumbnail" button (it has the word ISO above it), and rotate the
rear command dial. You should see a rectangle outline on your image.
(There's a visual hint in the image LCD of a magnifying glass icon,
what button to press, and an icon to represent the rear dial). You
can use the "direction pad - joystick" button to position the rectangle.

Rotate the dial to the smallest rectangle, and release the button you
have been holding down, to view the image at its greatest
magnification. You can press the thumbnail button to get the rectangle
again, and reposition the rectangle to view other areas.

On the small D70 image panel, this feature doesn't offer a great view
of the image, but it might help you evaluate your photo. If at all
possible, wait until you have the image on your computer to determine
if you want to trash it or not. You might find some redeeming feature
that you couldn't see using the above steps!

Thanks, I new that you could magnify the image, by pressing the enter
button, but I didn't know that you could magnify it to that extent,

Debbie

Or, you can view other parts of the zoomed image simply by using the
up/down/left/right buttons on the "direction pad - joystick" pad...or as the
manual calls it: Autofocus Area Direction Pad
