Hi

I intend to purchase the 70-200 VR lens. B & H are out of stock but
they quote a price of $1,600. Online there is another firm that has
the lens in stock and are quoting $1,095. Is there a catch? Why the
price discrepancy?

Errol,

Are you ordering it on-line? If so, as you and I know, while living in
Israel, you might have to pay import taxes at the post office. Did you
check already our local stores; Photo Hadar (Nikon supplier),
PhotoFilm and Juergen Bro, all in Tel Aviv?
As I will be buying this lens too somewhere in the future, I like you
to keep us posted.
Thanks and all the best,
Louis

I would consider it quite suspicious to have that much difference in
price. I have dealt with B&H extensively over the past few years and
they are very good to deal with, and are fairly competitive on prices.

CAVEAT EMPTOR!!!

We aren't supposed to "advertise" or "promote" ourselves, but I think
it's okay to recommend someone ELSE... I recently did business with a
photography store that Micheal Berube works at, and was very pleased
with my experience. They had the 70-300 VR lens and B&H was out of
stock. Check with Michael here in this Yahoo Group. Here's info I have:
