I am looking for a bag to travel with, designed to hold a D70, a few
lenses, a small (12") notebook computer, and some accessories. I've
heard they are available but have been unable to locate any. Backpack
style or case with wheels type might be suitable.
I would appreciate hearing from anyone with good experiences with such
a combo. Where should I look and do you have any recommendations?
Thanks.
Ted

My choice was Lowepro CompudayPack.
Reason was the lightest from the 3 alternatives: Lowepro Computrekker and
tamrac Adventure 9.
It is certified as being safe and accepted on planes.

Domke makes a satchel style that holds camera and computer. I have no experience with it.

Ted -
I can't personally vouch for this one, but my neighbor found it and
loves it:
<<If you feel like it, though, you could point him toward the Kata R-
103.
I've had mine for over a year and remain thrilled with it, and two
friends have since bought the same one. More about it here:

Check out what THINK TANK PHOTO makes at:
http://www.thinktankphoto.com/
Urban Disguise models 50 and 60 handle notebooks. There's styles with
wheels as carry-on also. My wife has the UD 40 and it is the right
size for a D40x and a few lenses. It's new, and neither of us have
much field experience with it yet. Well made though.

I've used this one by Tamrac:
http://www.tamrac.com/5258.htm
It was fine for a trip to the west coast and no problem with
Continental Airlines. They also make a smaller one that might work
better for a smaller computer.

You can find these bags at B & H or any of the internet camera supply
sources and sometimes you can find them on e-bay.

I have the LowePro Vertex 300 but I think that is a bit large for your
need but they have smaller versions. I love this bag and this style
and is it perfect no but their is no perfect bag.
You can go to the Lowepro web-site and build your own.
I found a company call Sell N Send off ebay. They have a web-site and
I called them up told them what equipment I had and what I was going to
buy in the near future and they fixed me right up. If you decide to
buy from them check their ebay prices first.
I have no connection with them other than that is where I bought my
bag.
