Recently purchased new Dell XPS 410 with 24" digital flatscreen (Dell
2407 WFP). This is a wide screen. Am experiencing problem with photo
display. All images are distorted (elongated)in the horizontal plane.
Unattrative and not condusive to editing. Does not effect utlimate
printing. Any Solutions? I feel this is somwhow related to the wide
screen monitor. Thanks.

Set the monitor to native resolution (1920x1200 IIRC). You're running a
4:3 resolution on a 16:10 format monitor.

Adam is right.

I have the same monitor. make sure your monitor drivers are current and your video card supports such a high resolution.

Otherwise, this monitor is awesome.

I am another proud owner of this particular screen.

It works perfectly at its native resolution 1920x1200
under both Linux and Windows (XP SP2, Vista RC1). I
don't know what kind of graphics controller the XPS
machines ship with, but you need one that can drive
1920x1200 at 60 Hz to be able to use this monitor at
its native resolution. LCDs look best at their
native resolutions and this one is no different.

Prashanth
